In the world of craft retail, you hardly ever have to pay full price for items because fabric & craft stores present many opportunities to save. But! If you want bigger and constant bargains, then you’ve got to search beyond the advertised sale prices.
You’ve got to learn when to shop an item and when to hold off on it, when to hit the store and when to shop online, and when to use a coupon or save it for later, which is what we’re going to be talking now in regards to Joann money saving hacks.
Coupons. Coupons. Coupons
Yes, Joann is friends with anyone who loves coupons. They offer them online. They send them in-app. They deliver via email and pop them via text alerts.
Not only that, but Joann also accepts competitor coupons from Michaels and Hobby Lobby. And what’s more, they let you combine coupons. For example, you can stack Hobby Lobby, Michaels and regular price Joann coupon per order.
Rotating sale events
Joann rotates sales every 4 to six weeks, so if there’s an item or a bunch of items that you need but are not currently on sale, you may want to hold off until they do get reduced because they eventually will.
Also, Joann usually discounts seasonal items by as much as 40% within days of hitting the store, and they always add items in the clearance section.
Discount programs for everyone
Joann offers members of the military 10% off purchases including sale and clearance, every day. Proof of membership is required at checkout.
Teachers receive 15% discount and they need to register for the Joann Teacher Rewards Discount Card and present a valid ID the first time they shop to activate the card.
Students who enroll for the discount program receive 10% off regular price and sale price items. Same goes for military members and teachers: discount applies to regular, clearance and sale items.

You can also download the Joann app that lets you scan coupons at checkout, which is more convenient, or print their weekly coupons to use in store.
